Projects 1-4's Final Images - THE END

I must say I learned a lot and had a great summer session in digital imaging. I am happy with my final images, and each project brought a different side of creativity out of me.  I learned and grew in this class. My projects did not remain in order on here for some reason but my recent blog posts will aid in that problem. Time to get ready for summer session II !

Life Changing Events...

I feel like I am basically finished with my Final Project (the digital version). I feel like it conveys the message that I needed it to without being too in your face and obvious.

"Ready for Print or Nah…? That is the Question"

hmmmm :-)

Almost There...

I can almostttttt see the finish line...

Just When You Thought I'd Stick to Photoshop...

I am trying to begin thinking about how I will treat the composition of the wood transfer I want to try out. I have been dealing a lot with compositing imagery in Photoshop and I am wondering if such a thing is possible with Gesso transfers to create an interesting mixed media effect. I am happy that this final project really allows us to push the envelope and try to print in a new way… I do not believe there is any true way to fail so I plan to jump on things asap.

yuck...

Final Project

I found my x rays!  Now let's get to work...

Friday, June 20, 2014

I apologize for the lateness!!!  I was trying to locate my x-rays from my knee surgery and was unsuccessful.  I am still on the hunt though.  I am thinking of using the scans either digitally or doing a transfer on some sort of drawing paper.  I will also add type and maybe it'll detail the process or the feelings I felt through it all.  For this last project I wanted to do something that I could directly relate to. I know there's not a lot to see here, I simply created some interesting scanograms that show textures that relate in some kind of was to the "grizzly" process (hint, hint) okay that was corny I'm done lol...

It's coming along… nicely I think

As with all Process, we begin to reach an End

I decided to do away with the vectors for this one, and give a more thought provoking image, in my opinion.  I feel like this one is more anonymous all around and can lead to different takes on, "what I am trying to say", etc.

The Cyclical Nature of Progess… the Process

Newest variation of my cyclical nature of things project... more process to come soon...

The Cyclical Nature of...

My 1st go round with the "cyclical nature of things" project, using an online tutorial I have been able to create a mood and start to deliver a message.  I'm happy with where I am at so far.  I definitely have to bounce back from my last piece, and I believe I'm on the right track. Excited and eager...

Stress is often a result of our own miscalculations...

When trying to reach for solutions to a prompt, and do so blindly, goes wrong… Wednesday I found myself lost on what to do for our current fantasy appliance project and I tried to rethink my concept because my initial one did not pan out.  I had the wrong idea about what the project was asking.  That same day, I went out and shot all these new shots for new appliance and ideas only to find myself in a place that would come back to haunt me.  My comfortability with photoshop is okay, but not good enough to whip out something in two days and especially when I haven't truly nailed down an idea and path to a solution.  Learn from me, last minute switch ups don't work!  I am not at all happy with my current project and I will have to redo it, no doubt. I care too much to turn in something that I myself am not happy with and therefore… the journey to becoming a graphic designer/ artist one day… continues

Some crude process work but I wanted to flush some things out and hopefully get to a point where I can make sense of my ideas and really start putting things together.  More work to come soon
I have been working on trying to figure out a background that will create an environment for my fantasy appliance that is visually interesting and still makes sense.  I feel like this is going in the right direction but I am not sure if I am there yet. I have other process work to show and I will post more as soon as I can get to the computer where I saved everything!... I obviously need a new flash drive

I had to make some more variations of this Mandela image.  I enjoyed working on this project and learned a lot. You all inspired me to keep working in class when we had our in progress critique; great work.  Thanks to you all, and hope you all enjoy
