I decided to do away with the vectors for this one, and give a more thought provoking image, in my opinion. I feel like this one is more anonymous all around and can lead to different takes on, "what I am trying to say", etc.
Not sure about the new direction. Does the spider web fit in with your original concept of child abuse or being disadvantaged? Maybe it does...Seems like the radial symmetry of the web is too obvious for a focal point. Do all roads need to visually point to the center? I personally liked the vector images along with the raterized image. Also altho a tad dark, the message seems to dictate this approach. I like the limited dramatic color scheme as well. Might put up version of both for crit to get feedback from class.
